This joint EUSA-University conference will allow you to explore the different ways that teaching is delivered in interesting and exciting ways, and what could improve your time at University.

11:00 - 12:00 Presentations from Elizabeth Bomberg (Outstanding Overall High Performer, 2008-9 EUSA Teaching Awards) on how to be an excellent teacher; and Richard Milne (2008-9 EUSA Teaching Award for Innovative Teaching) on how to present lectures and effectively use powerpoint in ways that engage students.
12:00 - 12:45 Workshops on specific teaching innovations and practices within the University:
- Tonks Fawcett (Nursing Studies): The Course Assignment Journey (limited availability)
- Tom Bruce (Engineering): Feedback Concordats
- Lloyd Llewelyn Jones (Classics): LogBook Assessment
12:45 - 1:45 An exhibition with stalls from all Schools in the University, illustrating what they do to deliver excellent teaching, with a buffet lunch provided.
1:45 - 2:45 Presentations from Elizabeth Bomberg (Outstanding Overall High Performer, 2008-9 EUSA Teaching Awards) on how to be an excellent teacher; and Richard Milne (2008-9 EUSA Teaching Award for Innovative Teaching) on how to present lectures and effectively use powerpoint in ways that engage students. This is a rerun of the 11-12 session.
2:45 - 3:30 Workshops on specific teaching innovations and practices within the University:
- Simon Bates (Physics): Taching with Clickers
- Stuart Anderson (Informatics): Cascaded Learning
- Gordon Findlater (MVM): Why Lecture when everything is online?
- Maria Chamberlain (Biology): Encouraging a Questioning Attitude in first year students
